Building a Touchscreen Smart Mirror with Raspberry Pi & Amazon Alexa

During my summer internship, I worked as a product manager with a consulting firm, building their people analytics platform. That experience is one which I’ll like to share in another medium post!

However, here, I’d like to talk about electronics. Raspberry Pi, sensors, tiny devices- what really captivated my attention for electronics? Looking backwards, I honestly can’t connect the dots(updated 2021: I think I understand now:)). But talking about my latest creation should be the focus here.

While I was researching on the future of connected devices, I stumbled on some interesting data about sensor-powered products and how they’ll completely revolutionize companies. So I decided I would look for some personal challenges I faced and build an electronic product to solve the problem.

Forgive me; I won’t go into the nitty-gritty of the data about sensor-powered products here, but maybe next time!

Here is the product I built — Trev, a touchscreen smart mirror that helps you extend your digital experience to your bathroom or anywhere.

If you are interested in building this, follow the link:https://www.nosaoghafua.com/smart-mirror to see the build and my thought process. This is the prototype of the project. I got some good reactions from people online about it and you never can tell what you’ll see next about the update.

I’ll share more about this some time soon! All the best!
